Playstation 3

With the dawn of the playstation3 coming to the UK soon, now is the time to ask for your reviews on this collosol console...

Is anyone out there lucky enough to have already got there hands on this new machine from Sony? And if you have, what are your thoughts on it??

In my opinion, the current price-tag £400+ GBP for the console, all seems a bit much to me... Surely they can't get away with charging so much for a new console... or maybe they can... is it worth it??

If they've corrected the faults of its predecessor it might be worth getting.

I think that the Playstation 2 is remarkable!! The range of games, the controller... Granted, they could develop the memory system on it, rather than having external memory cards which are known for corrupt data...

I've played it a few times now, our local game store has one up.

If you have the cash to spend on it, go for it. Personally, I think it's not nearly as good as it's supposed to be if you're not playing it on a HD television. That's what adds a lot of the "cool" effect to it.

i dont htink i will get it. not untill i have finished every game i have on ps2. and i have more money. im only planning to get it because of final fantasy xiii

well, my bro got one a few weeks ago, and to be honest it ain't that amazing...yet.

The games they released with it are not bad but if i had a choice i'd still play my xbox or ps2.

But due to the amount that you'll be able to customise the ps3 it should be a giggle (an expensive giggle) because although i think that sony are a bunch of ah holes they do produce decent consoles, but thanks to those b*st*rds, nintendo get looked over because they don't do everything that the other consoles do, i don't go for graphics, i go for the game, i don't care if it can't play dvds, you can't play a game n watch a dvd at the same time can you?

It's a GAMES CONSOLE, not a multimedia monster, and people need to remember that and stop trying to cram so much crap into one thing, take it bake to basics i say.

Wjhats next? a toaster i reckon...playing tekken 74 and munching on toast while your body morphs into a bag of flab, o wait a min! sony has just released the magical muscle stimulator-ma-tron it burns the weight so you can play more games!

Some mixed opinions about the Playstation 3 then?! I would like to get one, I think it is a beautifully sleek machine, and I think that there is a lot of potential for it... however, at the same time, I really like my playstation two!!

I am disappointed at the fact that Sony are releasing all these new machines now, meaning that the shelf life of the PS2 has been dramatically reduced!

I agree with it, I buy consoles for the games not for the multimedia... The ONLY reason I want it is for Final Fantasy 13 but it's way too expansive!

Oh and some companies aren't exlusive anymore like DMC4 will be on Xbox too. That makes some Sony fans worry and some others happy because losing exclusivity means that it's going to be on another console too.

360 has sold ~10 millions woldwide (but it has a year ahead of the others), Wii has sold ~6.5 millions already and PS3 is only at ~3 millions.

It might sell better after FF13 comes out but who knows if it'll stay as an exclusive?
